Bocchi the Rock is a 2022 music comedy anime series, produced by CloverWorks (Spy x Family, The Promised Neverland), based on the manga of the same name by Aki Hamaji.
The series follows socially awkward Hitori, whose dream is to become a rock musician and make great friends. She's given a chance to join Kessoku Band, which may be the best way for Hitori to fulfill these dreams of hers.
Back in 2022, when the anime first aired, it became an absolute hit, and fans keep praising the series for its unmatched vibe and outstanding soundtrack even now. And they're naturally curious whether they'll ever get to see Season 2 of the anime. But they've got something else to look forward to for now.

A compilation movie of the series was announced in May 2023. Although there isn't an exact release date, the movie is scheduled for Spring 2023. It was later revealed that the movie would come in two parts, and the second part of the movie will premiere in Q3 2024 (July – September).
The movies will retell the story of the Bocchi the Rock anime and, fans hope, have some extra content that wasn't in the series. They are also hoping that there will be new amazing soundtracks to add to their playlists.
Why do we need the movies?
The first thing that's important to point out is that fans are not the ones who need the movies the most, it's the animation studio. Releasing compilation movies theatrically will allow them to earn more money for the future projects and, possibly, make Season 2 of Bocchi the Rock.
But fans are also happy about the upcoming movies because it'll give them a chance to watch the anime at a theater, and some of us think it's a magical way to experience a story.
On top of that, it will keep Bocchi the Rock afloat and won't let people forget about the series. Moreover, it'll give fans something to look forward to while the studio is (hopefully) working on a sequel.
New character visual
A new visual has been released, and it features all the band members, who look just as adorable and pretty as always. Fans have instantly noticed that Hitori is smiling in the visual, and this is already enough to make them happy and smile, too.
The new visual makes the viewers even more hyped for the upcoming movies, and they can't wait to finally learn the exact release date. February is almost over, and there isn't much time until spring arrives, so we hope to know more information in the near future.
