Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc aka Season 4: Everything We Know So Far

Expectations and predictions about the new season of the Demon Slayer anime.

Summary:

  • Ufotable announced that Season 4 of Demon Slayer is in production.
  • Fans think there might be some additional content in the anime.
  • There’s a chance that the new season will be released in early 2024.

Season 3 of Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) finished airing in June 2023, and even though it hasn’t been that much time since we last saw our favorite characters, fans are already excited to see the next part of their adventure.

Everything we know about Season 4

Ufotable announced that they were working on the next season at the end of June 2023, and released the visuals featuring five hashira: Giyu, Shinobu, Gyomei, Sanemi and Obanai, which is kind of exciting for the fans since these demon slayers are finally going to have more attention.

A small video teaser was also released and it features all the Hashira except for Rengoku (which is, sadly, understandable). But it looks like Gyomei is going to be the main star of the new season since he’s taken the central part of the picture. But as the manga readers say, all five hashira that were featured in the poster visuals will play major roles in the arc.

The Hashira Training Arc starts with the Hashira meeting where they discuss the marks some swordsmen have. They mention Tanjiro as he’s one of such swordsmen. Tanjiro himself cannot explain the mystery behind his mark and how he got it. The Hashira agree that those who have the marks are to participate in the training, and this is how the story begins.

It’s still unclear if the entire season is going to focus on this arc alone, but fans suggest that there might be something else. The entire arc is only 9 chapters long, and if the production goes the way it usually does, Ufotable will only need 3-4 episodes to adapt the training arc. Since it’s definitely not enough for a proper season, fans think there will be either some extra content added to the original source or we’ll have another arc animated as well.

Fans don’t mind having some extra content to be added but they fear that too much of it might ruin the pacing of the series and it will feel dragged out. Fillers are another worry of the fanbase, as they don’t want the story to get boring.

The production is said to have started by now, and fans speculate on when the season is going to start airing. Their bets are on February 2024, since 9 months is enough time to release a good quality product while having a healthy production schedule.

Considering all the debates about the animation quality and production schedules in the anime industry, we feel like waiting as much as needed is the best option for Ufotable, and we’ll be there to watch the final product when it’s ready.
