Hashira are the ultimate demon slayers in the anime, they are highest ranking professionals and incredibly skilled warriors, so there’s no wonder they are so popular among the fans.
Here’s a small list of our favorite Hashira. The list is based on the anime only, so please don’t get upset if you don’t see your fave here, since not all of the demon slayers have been given the love they deserve in the adaptation yet.
1. Shinobu Kocho
Elegant and beautiful, this hashira reminds you of a majestic butterfly. However, unlike the said butterfly, she’s not so harmless. Behind her delicate beauty lies great power. Shinobu can seem cheerful and welcoming with her cute smile, but don’t be fooled: she’s deadly on the battlefield. This opposition between her facade and her combat abilities is what makes her so frightening.
2. Giyu Tomioka
This cold looking hashira is the first one we encounter while watching Demon Slayer. Stoic and reserved, he’s not easily bothered, and has no mercy when it comes to killing demons. Although he seems rather ruthless and emotionless in the first episode when he tries to kill Nezuko, we later learn that he has a good heart. Upon learning the truth about the girl and seeing how she is, Giyu tries to protect her later in the story.
3. Kyojuro Rengoku
Rengoku’s personality is just as bright as his appearance. Being the flame hashira suits him a lot, he resembles fire in so many ways: he’s eccentric, cheerful and full of life, and just as unstoppable. His enthusiasm is so contagious that you can feel it through the screen. Rengoku’s heart is just as warm as his flame: he cares deeply for his family and friends as well as other people.
4. Tengen Uzui
Seeing Tengen for the first time has made hundreds of fans go “niiiice”. His stunning and athletic appearance is not everything he’s got to offer, though. Tengen is quite flamboyant and eccentric, he’s a masterful fighter and he knows exactly how good he is, and is not too shy to boast. This hashira may even go as far as proclaiming himself a god, and you know what? We’ll allow it.
5. Mitsuri Kanroji
This girl is the embodiment of the meme “looks nice but can actually kill you”. Being the love hashira is almost written on her: the girl is extremely passionate and emotional, and sometimes resembles a typical fangirl. But make no mistake, she’s a hashira for a reason. Mitsuri possesses quite surprising physical strength and is perfectly capable of scaring even the most brutal enemies.
Strength is hot, we can’t deny it.
