Fluffy Paradise Reveals Its First Adorable PV

Fluffy Paradise Reveals Its First Adorable PV

Petting all cute animals (including dragons).

Summary:

  • Fluffy Paradise’s first PV promises us an adorable and fun isekai story.
  • EMT studio is known for both amazing and middling isekais.
  • This is show’s director first big project in this position.
  • The series starts airing in January 2024.

We live in a time when seasonal isekai anime is an inevitability, with the only question being whenever there’s GOOD isekai anime in any particular season. This Fall 2023, for example, we’ve mostly got “good enough” shows like Tearmoon Empire (Tearmoon Teikoku Monogatari: Dantoudai kara Hajimaru, Hime no Tensei Gyakuten Story), I Shall Survive Using Potions! (Potion-danomi de Ikinobimasu!) and Shangri-La Frontier: Kusoge Hunter, Kamige ni Idoman to su. Nothing that could stand alongside Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-

(Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu), Drifters and Ya Boy Kongming! (Paripi Koumei) as timeless classics.

Well, the upcoming Fluffy Paradise (Isekai de Mofumofu Nadenade suru Tame ni Ganbattemasu) doesn’t seem to be aiming to be one of the greats — but so far, it promises to be good enough:

Isekaied as a Disney princess

This is a story about a 27 year old woman named Akitsu Midori who died from overworking — which is a very real phenomenon known in Japan as “karoshi”, and is the biggest sign of sheer toxicity of their working culture — and is transported to another world by a godly figure. Just like most isekai protagonists in similar situations, she is offered some accommodations for this transition, and that’s where the differences begin.

See, Midori loves cute and fluffy animals — but animals don’t like her very much. So she wishes to be loved by animals in her new life — and is granted the ability “to be loved by non-human beings” instead. Which in a fantasy world includes every living, breathing part of the bestiary, from cats and dogs to tigers, goblins and even giant dragons.

And so, Midori (reborn as Osfe “Nema” Nefertima, the youngest daughter of a noble house) gets to enjoy petting all kinds of creatures, while saving the world (because, of course, that’s also happening).

Can’t judge by the studio and the director yet

The TV is created by EMT Squared studio, known for Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Drug Store in Another World: The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist (Cheat Kusushi no Slow Life: Isekai ni Tsukurou Drugstore) and The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far (Tensei Kizoku no Isekai Boukenroku: Jichou wo Shiranai Kamigami no Shito) — which, combined with the fact that this show’s director Junichi Kitamura had only been in a similar position with the first episode of Fairy Tail OVA, makes it difficult to preemptively judge how good the series will turn out to be.

Hopefully, the Fluffy Paradise will keep the adorable, heartwarming quality we were shown in the trailer, and won’t go anywhere dark and edgy. We’ll see once the series’ first episode premieres, on January 7th, 2024.
