Gintama: Yoshiwara in Flames is headed to streaming, as Gintoki and Tsukuyo take on oppressive forces to free Yoshiwara's sun.

Clocking in at 2 hours and 4 minutes, the feature-length arc drops the Odd Jobs crew into the underground red-light district of Yoshiwara, where a rescue mission spirals into a full-scale rebellion. With a script by Hideaki Sorachi (the manga’s creator) and Taku Kishimoto, and direction from Naoya Ando, Yojiro Arai and Mamoru Enomoto, this is one of Gintama’s darkest, most action-heavy runs—pitting Gintoki and company against the brutal Yato ruler Housen and introducing the fan-favorite guardian of Yoshiwara, Tsukuyo.

The story follows Gintoki and his loyal companions as they dig into a conspiracy strangling the district’s residents. Alongside the Hyakka, the all-female assassin unit led by Tsukuyo, the team fights to protect Hinowa and help a young boy, Seita, find his mother—while Kagura’s own Yato lineage takes center stage when her fearsome brother Kamui enters the fray.

Gintama: Yoshiwara in Flames streams on Netflix in August.

Between the Hyakka’s knives-in-the-dark tactics and a towering Yato showdown, it’s a straight shot of Gintama at full throttle.
