We shouldn’t forget that she’s an Upper Rank Six after all.
Summary:
- Daki is underestimated by the fandom.
- She doesn’t stand the comparison to Gyutaro.
- Daki is still a very strong demon.
For some reason, Daki is considered one of the weakest Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) demons by the fandom, but in reality, she’s just super underestimated.
Gyutaro ruined it for her
Daki is one of the Twelve Kizuki, an Upper Rank Six; she shares this position with her brother, Gyutaro, and this family bond has become the main reason for fans underestimating Daki.
Gyutaro is much stronger than her sister, which is why it often seems like she’s nothing but a liability to him. Daki needs his protection, often getting emotional and allowing her feelings to take over. However, she’s not just a useless girl standing in the way of Gyutaro’s greatness.
A number of fans think that Daki completely deserves the position of an Upper Rank Six all by herself, and it’s Gyutaro who has to be rated higher, Rank Five or even Four.
But Daki is just where she’s supposed to be, and Rank Six is very powerful. But this comparison to her brother is what makes her look this weak and worthless.
Daki is stronger than she looks
It’s been said that Daki used to kill and devour several Hashira in the past, and these are the most skilled demon slayers. She managed to battle Zenitsu, Inosuke, Makio and Suma at the same time and even though this encounter ended with Daki’s defeat, each of the characters felt that she was a force to be reckoned with.
Even after she had been weakened, Daki was a menace on the battlefield and forced Tanjiro to really work for it. She managed to injure Nezuko and destroy an entire street with her powers, and didn’t even break a sweat while doing so.
Zenitsu and Inosuke almost died while fighting Daki, and it took everything they had to finally behead her. The Entertainment District Arc was amazing, but it was packed with plot armor for all the demon slayers, which is the only reason why they were able to defeat Daki and her brother.
However, it’s true that Daki is no match for Gyutaro, and this is why so many fans consider her to be really weak. But let’s be honest, if it wasn’t for him and if she was the main demon in the arc, no one would really doubt her powers because there wouldn’t be a comparison.
Moreover, if Daki didn’t have Gyutaro to rely on, she would be forced to become stronger by herself, so it’s not just a comparison issue, it’s also an issue of necessity. Gyutaro was always there to protect her, so there was no need for her to get much stronger.
