  • It follows Jinwoo’s son.
  • There won’t be much of Jinwoo in the sequel, but he will be there.

What Is It About?

Unlike the original Solo Leveling series, Ragnarok doesn’t follow Sung Jinwoo. There is a new protagonist, and this time it’s Sung Suho, the son of Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In.

Just like his father, Suho is also a hunter. However, his powers scared Jinwoo and Cha and when they failed to do anything about them, Suho’s father decided to seal the powers of his son and suppress his memories of them.

Of course, they couldn’t stay suppressed for much time, and there comes a moment when Suho has to become a hunter just like his father. But no matter how much he looks like Jinwoo and how similar their powers are, his story is not just a copy of the original series.

Jinwoo in Ragnarok

As you might have guessed from the synopsis, Jinwoo will also appear in Ragnarok. But this is not his story anymore, so you have to be ready that Suho is the new star of the series with Jinwoo fading into the background.

Although there isn’t much of Jinwoo in Ragnarok, he is not entirely absent there. But readers admit that he mostly does some fatherly stuff for his son instead of engaging in heated battles like he did in the original series.

After Suho started manifesting his powers when he was just a toddler, his mother was shocked. Jinwoo had to start training his son and teaching him how to use his abilities. So you’ll definitely see at least some of him.

There will also be some scenes of Jinwoo strategizing and commanding the Shadow Corps, but you won’t see him fighting beasts and monsters, so you’ll have to stick to the original series if you want to see him in action.

However, we shouldn’t forget that Ragnarok is yet to be finished and there’s still a big part of the story missing.

It’s unclear whether Jinwoo will be more relevant to the plot in the future, but there’s always hope to see more of the original Solo Leveling protagonist. Perhaps even a happy family epilogue with him, Cha and Suho?
