No Longer Allowed In Another World (Isekai Shikkaku) is a manga written by Hiroshi Noda and illustrated by Takahiro Wakamatsu. An anime adaptation of the series was announced almost two years ago, in July, 2022, and we haven’t heard much about the project since.
AtelierPontdarc is responsible for the anime adaptation, and even though you won’t find an endless list of projects among the studio’s works, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be excited for the upcoming premiere.
The series follows a writer with a very familiar name, Osamu Dazai, a single look at whom will tell you: he doesn’t want to live anymore. But he does, and is transferred to another world, full of magic powers and cute girls. Maybe this will finally give him the will to live?
New trailer and visual are out
No Longer Allowed in Another World revealed a new promotional video, and the first thing that comes to mind when you start watching it is “Levi, is that you?”. And you would be absolutely right to think so, since the main protagonist is indeed voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya. We suppose he just likes joining projects with Osamu Dazai in them.
The trailer provides the most hilarious contrast between the main protagonist, whose eyes are so dead and whose appearance screams “done and bored,” and charming and vivid fantasy girls. We sense a lot of dark humor coming in the series.
A new key visual is also out, and just like the trailer, it features lifeless Dazai surrounded by cheerful girls. We can’t wait to see how these polar opposites will interact.
The most exciting news, however, is not the trailer and the visual, but the release date announcement. No Longer Allowed in Another World is scheduled for July, 2024 and will air during the summer season.
