Another wonderful opportunity to praise the adaptation.
We know you’ve already heard all types of praise that the Solo Leveling (Ore dake Level Up na Ken) anime received, and it’s true that the adaptation brought the series to another level.
There are a number of scenes that fans especially loved in the anime. The scenes that were executed even better than in the original source. So let’s take a look at some of them.
- Double Dungeon
Don’t get us wrong, this sequence was really great in the manhwa, but sometimes you just need some music and menacing sounds to make it even better. And this is where anime wins.
The Statue of God’s smile was haunting fans without seeing it animated already, but the animation made it even more sinister.
- Blue Venom-Fanged Kasaka Fight
Episode 4 was a major turning point for Solo Leveling because it was the first time Jinwoo had a proper one-on-one boss battle. Do you remember that frightening giant cobra that took all of the main protagonist’s powers to defeat?
The animation elevated the scene and filled it with so much tension and excitement that no manga or manhwa can possibly achieve. Truly one of the greatest scenes in the series.
- Jinwoo Kills People for the First Time
Jinwoo had to learn the hard way that it’s not just monsters that are his enemies sometimes. In Episode 6 he finds out that he’s been betrayed by other hunters, and the System forces him to get rid of the traitors.
It was a crucial moment both in the manhwa and the anime, but the adaptation made Jinwoo look even more menacing and terrifying.
- Cerberus Fight
Now let’s move on to Episode 7, when Jinwoo fought an A-Rank magic beast and survived. Cerberus was definitely an opponent to be reckoned with, and we have to admit that the anime made the entire fight even more intense.
The adaptation extended the scene and made it longer than it was in the manhwa, and that was a great decision. We’ll never forget how satisfying it was to see the “You have defeated the Hell’s Gatekeeper Cerberus” message on our screens.
- Jinwoo vs Igris
Episode 11 brought us another exciting fight that forced us to move to the edge of our seats. Although we had a feeling that Jinwoo would defeat another opponent, this time it felt like he might actually lose.
This fight was already great in the manhwa, but the anime did wonders with it. The animation and the most epic soundtrack did their magic and turned the scene into one of the best in the entire adaptation.
