The Solo Leveling fanbase cannot avoid the infinite battle of “sub versus dub” either, but this time it looks like even the biggest pro sub fans don’t mind the English dub of the series. And it’s all thanks to the English voice actor of Sung Jinwoo, Aleks Le.

Aleks Le is a very famous anime voice actor, and you might have heard him in Demon Slayer (Zenitsu), Vinland Saga (Thorfinn), Tokyo Revengers (Mikey), or Mashle (Mash). His voice is very recognizable and viewers were very happy to hear him again in Solo Leveling.

But one of the things fans love about Aleks Le the most is not even his acting (although it’s also phenomenal), it’s the way he approaches his work and interacts with the fans.

Great Personality and Great Skills

Last week a video of Aleks was all over the Solo Leveling communities. In the video, the actor addressed some rude comments that the fans were making. They were overly excited about Jinwoo saying his famous “Arise” line and were threatening the actor to come for him if he delivered the line wrong.

Instead of making a big deal out of it and turning these comments into a major controversy, Aleks Le approached the situation with dignity and even humor. He asked viewers to have some trust in him and stop spamming his social media with rude comments.

The actor then threatened the viewers back in the most hilarious way. He told them that if they didn’t stop with all the mean messages, he’d change “Arise” to something like “Wakey wakey,” “Get up, buddy” or even “Erect.”

Fans found Aleks’ patience and calmness admirable and praised him for being so rational and chill about threats. He also got bonus points from them for his awesome sense of humor, of course.

Still, the sense of humor is not where fans’ love ends. The last two episodes of Solo Leveling were incredibly intense; they involved constant screaming and fighting, and Aleks Le did an immensely impressive job.

Behind the scenes videos made fans worried about the actor’s throat and voice, but they really appreciated the effort.

So many sub fans prefer the Japanese audio because of how brilliant the Japanese seiyuu usually are. There’s just another level of emotion to their lines. And seeing Aleks Le work makes fans happy because the English dub is finally as amazing as the original.
