There's one anime everyone's got their eye on this summer — and no, it's not another isekai or high school rom-com.
Enter Gachiakuta, the long-awaited adaptation of Kei Urana's manga, coming from none other than studio Bones (Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia, etc). This thing's been hyped for years, and now it's finally landing — gritty, stylish, and ready to start some fights.
The story follows Rudo, a kid from a floating city called the Sphere, who gets framed for murdering his father and tossed into the Pit — a trash-filled hellhole below where society dumps its unwanted garbage and people. Down there, he finds out he's a Giver — someone who can turn treasured junk into deadly powers — and starts plotting his way back up for revenge.
It's got grime, action, supernatural junk weapons, and a furious main character with a bone to pick. The manga already built a cult following, and Bones looks like they're going all in on the animation.
No surprise then that Gachiakuta just got named the most anticipated anime of Summer 2025. Let's hope it hits as hard as it looks.
