The Witch and the Beast Gets New Visual and PV: Dark Fantasy Coming in January

Less than a month before the premiere, and we can’t wait.

Summary:

  • The Witch and the Beast is an upcoming anime series, scheduled for January 11.
  • It follows Ashaf and Guideau, as they work on magic related cases.
  • New visual and PV have been revealed.

The Witch and the Beast (Majo to Yajuu) is an upcoming dark fantasy anime thriller, scheduled for January 11, 2024. With just a few weeks before the premiere of the series, it’s time to get excited, and Yokohama Animation Laboratory (the studio working on the anime) agrees by releasing a new visual along with a trailer.

As you might have already guessed from the name of the series, The Witch and the Beast explores the dark world of magic, witches and curses. As the previous trailer tells us, there aren’t many ways to break a witch’s curse: a loving kiss from a prince on a white horse, hope the wrathful witch changes her mind, or try something else. And the third choice seems like the best one for our two protagonists.

Guideau, a girl who hates witches, and Ashaf, a mage of “The Order of Magical Resonance” work together on magic related cases. Together, the two investigators solve magical mysteries and crimes, while trying to find the witch that cursed Guideau.

New trailer and visual

The past weekend was exciting for the Witch and the Beast fandom: the anime received a visual and a promotional video. Both provide another glimpse of what the series will be like.

The new visual portrays two characters: Phanora and her partner, Johan, who are affiliated with The Order Of Magical Resonance in the series, just like the main protagonists. But the trailer gives us much more, of course. It’s filled with stunning characters and interesting action, and you can’t help but feel Black-Butler-like vibes from it. Guideau, one of the two main protagonists, looks like a lot of fun, and we can’t wait to see the insanity she’s going to bring into the series. Ashaf is more mysterious for now, though, with a coffin on his back and red-eyed ravens that he seems to create in the trailer.

Fans definitely like what they’re seeing. The art style looks fascinating, the voice acting deserves attention, the action feels great. Manga readers promise that if this is going to be a faithful adaptation, the anime will surely become a hit, and maybe even the best 2024 winter season series. Here’s also hoping that the anime will attract more people to the Witch and the Beast manga, since it’s a truly incredible experience. And now we just can’t wait for January to finally see this series and start our journey together with Ashaf and Guideau.
