There Won't Be a New Solo Leveling Episode on February 24, Here's Why

The real reason we're getting just a recap episode this weekend.

Summary:

  • There won't be a new Solo Leveling episode this week.
  • We'll get a recap episode instead.
  • They say it's connected to the main voice actor's illness.

Episode 7 of Solo Leveling (Ore dake Level Up na Ken) aired just a couple of days ago and surprised us once again with a breathtaking fight and spectacular action. However, you'll have to wait a little bit longer to keep experiencing this amazing journey due to some schedule changes.

Episode 8 was supposed to air on February 24, but it was decided that the broadcast would move to March 2. Instead of it, there will be Episode 7.5 on February 24, that will retell all the events that happened in the first 7 episodes.

Why is there a delay?

The explanation is very simple: production issues. A-1 Pictures need more time to finish the upcoming episodes and provide the best possible adaptation.

It's rumored that Jinwoo's voice actor, Taito Ban, is ill at the moment, so he can't come back to the role for now, that's why there's a pause in the production.

There are a number of fans who don't really buy the illness excuse and think that there's a different reason for the delay but we doubt that there's any conspiracy.

Seven episodes are a very short period, and we highly doubt that fans have already forgotten what happened in them. Solo Leveling is nowhere near a Metallic Rouge type of confusing when it comes to its plot, so there's no need to have an explanatory episode.

Fans' reaction

Fans are naturally confused and upset by the news. They were looking forward to watching the Solo Leveling adaptation, and now that it's finally here, they don't want to pause their experience even for a week.

The Solo Leveling anime has been doing really well, and all the high scores and positive reviews may prove it to you, so everyone is obviously excited for the upcoming episodes.

Still, viewers understand the situation and are worried about the health of Solo Leveling's voice actors as well as about the final product. So most of them agree that if a pause is needed, the production should be paused indeed.

No one wants the anime to succeed more than fans do, so they're ready to wait for as much as it might take. The quality of the series is something the studio has to focus on, and we don't really need another production controversy after MAPPA with their Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
