What it’s about
The setup is simple and a little twisted: Shizuka calls herself an ordinary high schooler, except for the part where ghosts basically treat her like a beacon. She ends up assisting Kamui, a big-deal psychic whose exorcism methods are... unconventional, to put it mildly. Together they pinball from one bizarre haunting to the next, leaning into the comedy as much as the chills.

Cast doing the heavy lifting
Tomokazu Sugita voices Kamui, which is exactly the kind of swagger you want for a smug, overpowered medium. Riko Aono plays Shizuka Mimizuka, the walking ghost magnet. Mao Ichimichi, who you might know as Hikari Yagami in 'Digimon Adventure tri. 6: Future', is Oichi. Shiori Izawa is Inagawa, and Yuuka Aisaka is Kyoko. The performances keep the tone snappy even when the show gets legitimately eerie.
Who’s making it
Directed by Tsukumotakumi with series composition from Motoshi Chujo, the show’s got a deep bench behind the curtain. Toshinari Yamashita handles character designs with sub-designs by Nana Hiiragi. There are two chief animation directors here — Takayuki Noguchi and Toshiyuki Abe — which usually means the team is dead serious about keeping cuts on-model across episodes. Art direction comes from Shinji Katahira, color design from Takuya Kawami, and sound direction from Syuhei Abe and Nankai Teioh. The score is by Chihiro Endo.
