Based on Reiji Miyajima’s hit manga, Rent-A-Girlfriend follows college student Kazuya Kinoshita, who hires Chizuru Mizuhara through a rental app after a brutal breakup — and then gets stuck in a fake-relationship spiral that keeps colliding with his real life. Season 1 (directed largely by Kazuomi Koga) runs 12 episodes and sets up the messy, funny push-pull that made the show blow up when it premiered in 2020.
