Chainsaw Man’s horsemen are the Control Devil, the War Devil, the Famine Devil, and the Death Devil. It was revealed in the manga that Makima is one of the horsemen, the Control Devil. She was later defeated and reincarnated as Nayuta.

Although other horsemen were mentioned by Makima in the first part of the manga, they didn’t play a big role back then. However, Part 2 provided more perspective on them.

All horsemen in Chainsaw Man are female, and they consider each other sisters. The Death Devil is the oldest of the “sisters” and the most mysterious, since her name and appearance are yet to be revealed. The Famine Devil is named Fami and the War Devil is Yoru.

Yoru is currently occupying the body of Asa, who was the main protagonist of Part 2 of the manga for some time.

The Four Horsemen are not just regular devils, they’re stronger and more capable. The four of them are the only beings who have the memories of the devils that the Chainsaw Devil consumed and erased.

What do they want?

The Horsemen don’t work as a united organization, they all have their own motivations and goals. On top of that, there seems to be a sort of feud between some of them as they wish to kill each other.

Makima’s desire to find the Chainsaw Devil and control it was connected to her wish to get rid of her sisters. She wanted the devil to devour them and erase them from existence. Makima claimed that she wanted to create a better world by getting rid of the other Horsemen.

Yoru also wanted to find the Chainsaw Devil, but it had nothing to do with erasing her sisters. All the Horsemen previously collaborated for their fight with this devil in Hell, and Yoru just wants a rematch with him.

Just like Makima, Fami claims to have a great goal of saving humanity, but her way of doing that is to defeat her sister, the Death Devil. She thinks this is the best way to stop the apocalypse.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much to say about the Death Devil and her motivation, since it’s yet to be revealed. But fans hope that the second part of the manga will finally provide some details about this character.

You wouldn’t want to mess with them, that’s for sure.
