The anime adaptation announcement was accompanied by the reveal of a new teaser visual and promotional video that introduces key characters and gives you the first look at the character design, art style and animation.

The release date month has also been revealed, and Wistoria: Wand and Sword is scheduled for July 2024. We don’t know the exact date yet, but we have a feeling it will follow very soon, since there isn’t much time until July.

The most interesting part of the news, according to fans, is the director of the upcoming anime, Tatsuya Yoshihara. He has a huge list of projects including such industry giants as Fullmetal Alchemist, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, One Punch Man, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and even Naruto.

Fans also joke that directing a series with a magicless main protagonist in the world of magic seems like Yoshihara’s passion, hinting at his work on Black Clover.

They say that Yoshihara’s involvement in Wistoria: Wand and Sword is already enough for them to become interested in the upcoming series, and they will be happy to see what else he can surprise them with.

There’s also a lot of Black Clover comparison because, as we’ve said, the overall premise and the director are the same, and fans wonder if Wistoria: Wand and Sword will be similar to that series.

They hope that Wistoria: Wand and Sword will show the audience what Black Clover could have looked like if Yoshihara had been given proper time and resources for the adaptation. And there’s just five months until we can finally find out.
