If you enjoy spending time with someone funny, that is.
The beauty of goofy characters is that they’re not only silly and often eccentric, but also truly fun to be around. And if this is your perfect type for a best friend, we got you!
- Yoshiko — Aho Girl
Well, the title of the anime itself can be translated as “an idiot girl” and that says everything you need to know about Yoshiko. She gets excited about weird things such as eating as many bananas as she can or riding a huge dog.
Pros of being friends with Yoshiko: you’ll always look smarter than her; you’ll never get bored; she might show you her panties (might be a con, too, though).
Cons: she will be so annoying sometimes, making you think about punching her at least once (that's canon, by the way).
- Clara — Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun)
Even her appearance alone screams “goofy and weird,” and yes, it is a good thing. Look at these green-monster slippers! Let’s hope she’ll let you borrow them.
Clara acts like an excited child a lot, so if you need some parenting practice, she would be great for the role. Or if you just need someone to get excited about anything you say, be it a boring school-day conversation or an actually curious story.
- Zenitsu — Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba)
If you can keep Zenitsu away from pretty girls and don’t let him get distracted, you’re sure to have some fun. We hope you don’t mind feeling embarrassed by your friend because he is definitely the type to scream loudly in public and comment on things he finds interesting.
Try to avoid any scary places like haunted houses in amusement parks, or dark alleys because Zenitsu will definitely alert everyone in the vicinity about his fear. In the most obnoxious way.
- Mako — Kill la Kill
Don’t worry if you’re low on energy sometimes, Mako will have so much of it that it will be enough for at least a small group of friends.
If you’re brave enough to befriend her, Mako will be the best possible companion, always caring for you and giving you as much attention as possible. She’ll also find new activities and adventures for you to do together every day. The only disadvantage is that they might include dangers, but you can handle it, right?
- Sasha — Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin)
We hope you love eating because it will be crucial for your friendship. It’s very easy to make Sasha happy: just browse the best and most unusual restaurants online, send Sasha an invite and it’s done: you’re her friend number one.
If you want to make her even more in love with you, cook the most delicious dinner by yourself, and trust us, she’ll never leave your side. Sasha is also a great fighter, so don’t worry if her eccentric personality attracts unwanted attention, she can handle herself and protect you at the same time.
- Yato — Noragami
We know Yato can be too much sometimes, but behind this somewhat childish and greedy facade lies a very good and caring personality.
Yato loves fame and money, so if you’re looking for a friend to start a small business with, you’ve found your guy. The only problem is that he usually doesn’t know how to earn money, so you’ll have to be patient. But ambition is there, and that’s a start.
- Power — Chainsaw Man
This girl does indeed know how to have some fun. She might come off as greedy and too self-centered, but if you find a way to earn her respect, Power will be a loyal friend to you. Loyal, eccentric and over-the-top — what can be better than that?
You should be careful with your things around her, though. Power might eat all of your snacks and then blame your dog for doing that, so hide them properly. And be ready to take up the role of a peacemaker because Power will definitely try to start a couple of fights while you’re hanging out.
- Chika — Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen)
If you always struggle with finding new interesting activities to do, Chika will be your hero. She has an endless reserve of eccentric ideas, and although you might not like all of them, there will definitely be something you’ll enjoy.
Chika might be super oblivious sometimes, not understanding social cues, so you’ll have to be the one to explain everything to her and get her out of awkward situations. And she will teach you how to play the piano and speak one of the 5 languages she knows instead. It’s a win-win situation!
- Gintoki — Gintama
If you don’t need someone to make you go outside and do a lot of exciting things, Gintoki is your man. He’s extremely lazy, and there’s a beauty to that. You may spend your days lying on a couch, watching anime or reading your favorite manga. Leave the outdoor activities to others.
You’ll also have to control the way Gintoki spends his money. Please don’t tell him what Genshin Impact and other gacha games are, or he’ll blow all his savings trying to get one of the cute characters.
- Luffy — One Piece
Lack of common sense and fearlessness are a dangerous combination, but Luffy makes it work somehow. And you will have to deal with it if you want to have the best possible experience.
Luffy may have a short fuse sometimes, so you’ll have to be the sane one in this duo to prevent anyone from getting hurt. But it’ll all be worth it because Luffy is nothing if not inspiring, and you’ll just want to be more like him. And who knows, maybe the two of you will be able to become the Pirate Kings one day.
