The new season of Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji) keeps airing, and this time the anime adaptation is bringing the Public School Arc to life. But there are so many incredible arcs in the manga, and a lot of them are just yet to be animated.
So let’s talk about some great Black Butler manga arcs and remember why we love them so much.
5. Luxury Liner
This manga arc actually got the chance to be animated, and you can experience it in the Book of the Atlantic movie.
Ciel and Sebastian learn about illegal and mysterious experiments in order to bring people back from the dead. The duo has to board a luxury passenger ship called Campania to investigate this case.
4. Blue Memory
This is the arc that changed the course of the story a lot, since now there are two Ciels in Black Butler.
Ciel recalls growing up with his twin brother, who actually turns out to be the original Ciel Phantomhive. This is also the arc that gives us more perspective on the contract between Ciel and Sebastian and how it was formed.
3. Public School
And we’ve approached our currently airing arc. Manga readers were hyped when they heard about it getting an anime adaptation because it’s definitely one of the favorite parts of the story.
Just like many Black Butler arcs, this one starts with a case. Ciel has to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a Weston College student. To do so, he has to enroll in the school, followed by his charming demon butler, of course.
2. Circus
Another lucky arc that got an adaptation. Book of Circus is considered the third season of the anime and aired back in 2014.
This time Ciel and Sebastian have to investigate a case of missing children (these two are sure busy with a lot of cases, huh). To do so, they have to join the Noah's Ark Circus. Fans really felt for all the new characters introduced in this arc, and wept at their heartbreaking stories.
1. Emerald Witch
This arc is also yet to be adapted in the anime, but there are high hopes that we’ll see it animated quite soon, since the Emerald Witch Arc follows the Public School one. We sure hope the currently airing season will be successful, so that the anime will keep going.
New characters, new setting, new case. This time Ciel and Sebastian have to travel to Germany to investigate mysterious deaths and deal with a witch’s curse.
