Yuki Kaji: When The Voice Acting Is Phenomenal

Yuki Kaji: When The Voice Acting Is Phenomenal

Why do we love this seiyuu so much?

Yuki Kaji is a Japanese actor who's voiced dozens of anime and video game characters. He's extremely famous in the anime world now and if you google some of your favorite titles, there's a high chance you'll find Yuki Kaji among the cast.

It wasn't always like that, though. There used to be a time when Yuki Kaji was mostly playing annoying teenage characters and school protagonists, so every mention of him made fans let out a bored sigh. But then Attack on Titan happened, and everything changed.

Fans almost simultaneously agree that Yuki Kaji has done (and keeps doing) a phenomenal job voicing Eren.

His acting has become one of the reasons why this character is so loved, and a lot of fans cannot even imagine not watching the series in Japanese. Eren's emotions are not the easiest thing to play, but the actor manages to keep up.

Moreover, he tries so hard that the Internet is full of articles about how Yuki almost lost his voice while playing Eren.

Anyway, Eren is not his only famous role. If you ever find yourself looking at his wiki page, it'll take you a solid minute just to scroll through all of his acting roles. And we are even scared to guess how much time it'll take you to read through all of them.

His roles range tremendously when it comes to the types of characters he plays. Eren is not the only passionate and emotional hero of his. Let's remember Yukine (Noragami) or talkative and short-fused Terunori Kuga (Food Wars). It might seem unconvincing after talking about Eren and Yukine, but Yuki Kaji is also incredible when it comes to portraying reserved characters: silent Kenma Kozume (Haikyu!!), composed and unlikable at first Arata Shindo (Psycho-Pass), aloof and preferring to keep to himself Shoto Todoroki (My Hero Academia) or distant and depressive Johnny Joestar (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure).

We're sure you've already heard plenty of famous titles but there's more characters that have to be mentioned. Turns out such huge projects as Tokyo Ghoul and Black Butler were also touched by the talent of Yuki Kaji. He voices Touka's brother, the arrogant and brusque Ayato, a ghoul with a threatening look, and big-eyed Finnian who's always lively and excited, and extremely loyal to Ciel.

And since we're speaking about big hyped projects, we'd like to mention Sabito (Demon Slayer) who also has the voice of the incredible Yuki Kaji. On screen for only one episode, but able to impress.

Of course, these are not all the characters that have had the pleasure to sound like Yuki Kaji, the list of them is infinite, as we've said. It's always nice to see a familiar face (or, well… hear a familiar voice) so we can't wait to see what future projects will have the diamond that Yuki Kaji is.
